Meet The Voice Actor For Kratos

In this generation, if you don't have the right talent for a blockbuster game, the experience suffers. We often say that sound is an increasingly important factor in video games, which is why major titles typically include fantastic voice acting from top-shelf talent.

Take God of War III , for instance. As the main character, tortured by just about everything in life (including himself), Kratos must have a highly distinguishable and even singular voice. SCEA really needed someone to bring that character to life, but although we've heard him before, do you know who it is? It's actor TC Carson; you may know him from his TV series, "Living Single." Check out a video of his voiceover work for Kratos over at Perez Start , and you'll see how well-suited he is to this role. Can you imagine Kratos with a different voice? We sure can't. These days, Hollywood and TV cross paths with the game industry on a consistent basis, and we're always interested to see who sits behind the scenes and helps turn virtual characters into beings that appear to be living, breathing, flesh-and-blood humans. As far as we're concerned, the only other option was to have Kratos be entirely silent, which would've given the game an artistic flair of sorts, but doesn't convey much in the way of impact.

Carson's voice, on the other hand, has a lot of impact. It's too bad that GoWIII is the final act of this tragic play, but you know…we kinda get the feeling that Kratos will be back, somehow.
