Nearly six years after winning Game of The Year at The Game Awards, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has an adaptation just announced.
At Gamescom Opening Night Live, one of the first announcements presented was an anime adaption for the 2019 GOTY award winner. Presenting… Sekiro: No Defeat, aiming for a Crunchyroll-exclusive release sometime in 2026 (as reported directly by Crunchyroll).
The popular Japanese anime streaming platform also reports that not only is the adaption somewhere in production, but it will also exclude several countries for its 2026 premiere, namely (but not exclusively) Belarus, China, Japan, and Korea.
Furthermore, the Director is Kenichi Kutsuna, with Screenwriter Takuya Satoru, as well as the video game’s three leading voice cast members returning to voice their respective characters for the anime.
