The rumor mill around a Persona 4 remake is heating up again, this time sparked by a surprising comment from voice actor Yuri Lowenthal, best known today for voicing Peter Parker in the Spider-Man games.
Lowenthal, who originally voiced Yosuke Hanamura in Persona 4, appeared to confirm the existence of a remake during a fan interaction. When asked if he would reprise his role in the rumored project, Lowenthal responded:
“No, I won’t be returning as Yosuke in the Persona 4 remake. I asked, maybe even begged—but they don’t want me back.”
The message has since been deleted, but not before being picked up by outlets like Eurogamer, adding further weight to the speculation.
Neither SEGA nor Atlus has officially announced a Persona 4 remake, though rumors have persisted for months. Earlier this year, vocalist Shihoko Hirata also dropped a potential hint, and the discovery of a related domain name added fuel to the fire.
Following the successful launch of Persona 3 Reload last year, it wouldn’t be surprising if Atlus is now preparing to give Persona 4 the same treatment. While Persona 4 Golden was already an enhanced re-release, fans would no doubt welcome a full modern remake with open arms.
