It's easily one of the most anticipated games of the generation, and developer DICE hopes it's "just the beginning."
The original Mirror's Edge was unlike anything we'd seen before, and DICE aims to take that concept to new heights with Mirror's Edge: Catalyst .
During a recent interview with The Guardian , DICE General Mnager Patrick Bach calls the new title a reboot:
"It’s more of a reboot than anything else. We call it the origin story. We keep what the first game was all about, but we’ve allowed ourselves to remaster it from the core out. Some of the promises weren’t realized; we wanted to build a game that felt truly free and open."
It's definitely not a direct sequel, as DICE has made plain before , and Bach says they plan to improve on a lot of the concepts found in the first game. For instance, he says "the story was good but it wasn't great" and "the things you could do were limited." The new idea is to give the player an idea of what it'd be like being a true Free Runner in a big open world. And while there will be an increased focus on combat, there won't be any guns .
Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is due out on February 26, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

well its sounds good enough in concept but will it eventuate to that i do have some confidence in DICE but they need to reprove themselves a bit in my mind.

the original had some good ideas but it wasn't very well done overall and not worth buying.. i played it for free when i had the free month of playstation plus during the welcome back program Sony had after the hack and it was just ok at best.. i could't see wasting on a sequel

the original had some good ideas but it wasn't very well done overall and not worth buying.. i played it for free when i had the free month of playstation plus during the welcome back program Sony had after the hack and it was just ok at best.. i could't see wasting on a sequel
