I'd put money on it that Borderlands 3 is in development. It may not be far along but that's their bread n' butter right now. I'm all for 2 new ip's from them too though. They got the talent, I think they just struggle to getting their ideas executed correctly for consumers to enjoy. Borderlands being the exception.

Okay, so if it's not Borderlands 3 , what might it be…?
Maybe we'll find out soon enough. Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford responded to a fan on Twitter who asked if the studio was working on an Xbox One game and while vague, it's still encouraging.
"We're working on next-gen. Platforms TBD. We'll probably announce something later this year."
We know that Gearbox is cranking away on two new IPs for the PllayStation 4 and Xbox One, but neither of those projects has been announced. Pitchford did confirm that a third Borderlands title is not currently in development, so their upcoming games could be very big surprises. We're just hoping they don't take another stab at Duke Nukem …they had their shot and didn't deliver, so I say try something else.
What do you want to see Gearbox produce?

Why put Duke in the next Borderlands? Seems like he'd be a good fit in that universe.

Bio
Gearbox didn't 'have their shot' with Duke Nukem. They simply managed to piece together the scraps of 15 years of perpetual obsolescence into something that could be released, because Pitchford is a Duke fan and didn't want to see the series die, and by doing that they ended up with the rights to the IP.
A Duke game developed by Gearbox from the ground up could be friggin' amazing.

Would love to see what happen to Baker and his band of merry men in Brothers in Arms.
Hells highways was alright but I would love them to go back to their roots and make an awesome next gen Brothers in Arms with the same gameplay as the first one.
I just love that series so much.

Good fresh and new IPs are what Ps4/XBone needs and not a thousand indie game but AAA games.

hoping tales of the borderlands is not one of them, even though TTG is working on that there such a small studio, and have so many other projects going on, i wouldnt be surprised to see a large part of gearbox helping them out.
you would assume one of the projects would be the MIA BIA furious four, which was apparently placed on hold as it was not working out.
i hope they turn it into a totally new IP, got a massive the saboteur vibe from that game, and a 4 player co-op game based on WW2 nazi germany with tons of burlesque houses, spies and shenanigans it could make such a awesome new game!
i actually really enjoyed the saboteur, shame it was made by pandemic who always had a split personality to their games, always fun and crazy, but never fleshed out well to reach their potential.
come to think of it, who do i have to kill to get a mercenaries 3?
imagine avalanche studios working on that, oh how much zany fun could be had with that!
or even maybe technland wouldnt be a bad fit……… -

I'm hoping for a coop action RPG from them. Something that blends everything that's cool with RPGs with everything that's cool with coop gameplay.
But whatever they do I at least hope it's something they've come up with themselves and can take ownership in, and not (a revival of) some other franchise.

Well… Furious Four is one, isn't it? You know, the once-was Brothers in Arms game that isn't a Brothers in Arms game anymore because it's too divergent from the tenets of the series?
As for the other, if it ain't Borderlands, I'm going to go with the Duke. They've said they want to try to bring him back, yeah? Well, a shiny new game in a new generation offers a pretty good opportunity to that.

I would be happy with a borderlands 3. A release date for a Borderlands 2 on the vita would also be nice. Either way anything else besides what Duke Nukem Forever would be grand.
