To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the beloved Trails series, fans have a major treat coming their way: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is set to release as a complete remake on September 19, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC – worldwide and packed with plenty of improvements. Pre-orders are already open. This remake revives the timeless adventure of Estelle and Joshua Bright, two young Bracers in the kingdom of Liberl, with fully reworked 3D graphics and a lovingly redesigned world that aims to captivate both longtime fans and newcomers.
A standout feature is the revamped combat system, which fluidly blends real-time exploration with classic turn-based battles, reminiscent of modern entries like Trails through Daybreak. For the first time, the game will offer subtitles in German, French, and English, along with English and Japanese voice acting. The localization has been completely overhauled to better honor the original script, fulfilling a longtime request from fans.
Collectors also have reason to celebrate: Clear River Games will handle the standard edition distribution in Europe, while Limited Run Games will offer an exclusive Collector’s Edition.
