Codemasters continues to work on the promising shooter, Bodycount , but it appears they're going to need more time.

The game got a lot of attention when Stuart Black (of Black fame) signed on to assist with the creation process, but things haven't gone exactly as planned. As Eurogamer reports, Codemasters Guildford general manager Adrian Bolton has left the company, which seems to have resulted in the Bodycount delay. Codemasters CEO Rod Cousens says the over-the-top shooter will miss its scheduled spring 2011 release and now claims it'll arrive in early summer. At the same time, Cousens says the company isn't reliant on only one person and adds that he doesn't see Bolton's departure "as any threat to either the well-being of the product, the well-being of the studio or the well-being of the company." In Bodycount , players will assume the role of a commando who takes down enemies known only as "targets," all for the sake of a mysterious organization known only as "The Network."

Well, Bodycount does appear to be entertaining, and we'd be interested to see the final result. Still, delays are never good news.
