PlayStation Plus Game Catalog Additions [August 2025]

Sony has revealed a brand-new round of PlayStation Plus Game Catalog introductions, with games like Mortal Kombat 1, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Unicorn Overlord, and more at the front and center. All games will be available on August 19.

As a reminder, though, these inclusions are exclusive to the higher (Extra and Premium) tiers of PlayStation Plus.

Mortal Kombat 1

While Mortal Kombat 1 might be winding down new content, it’s still a fighting game with enough to keep you entertained with its cast of characters and well-established gory fatalities.

Marvel’s Spider-Man

Marvel’s Spider-Man is second on this list, offering up the Remastered version for us PS5 players while those still on the PS4 can get the Game of the Year edition.

Sword of the Sea

Giant Squid’s Sword of the Sea is launching as a day-one inclusion of the Game Catalog, featuring an atmospheric adventure akin to something like Journey, ABZU, and The Pathless, which makes sense as it’s from the same artist.

Earth Defense Force 6

On the brink of collapse, Earth Defense Force 6 puts you in the shoes of a soldier battling the ongoing alien threat either solo or with friends.

Unicorn Overlord

Atlus and Vanillaware’s Unicorn Overlord tasks you with pushing forward to regain your reign alongside a motley crew of trusted companions in this tactical-RPG.

Atelier Ryza 3 Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key

Atelier Ryza 3 Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key puts you in the shoes of Ryza as you must brave the Kark Isles alongside your companions to save her hometown.

Indika

If story-driven games are more your forte, Indika‘s got you covered. Telling the story of a young nun on a journey of self-discovery as she meets with unexpected acquaintances, including the devil himself.

Harold Halibut

Made in the span of many years, Harold Halibut is a claymation game centered around friendship following Harold as his home ship crashes, submerged in an alien ocrean.

Coral Island

Coral Island sees you escape the big city to tend to a farm, allowing you to tend to crops, animals, and build relationships with the folks around the island. It’s basically a game akin to Stardew Valley.

Premium Exclusives

Resident Evil 2

Take control in of Leon S. Kennedy as you enter Raccoon City alongside Claire Redfield in Resident Evil 2. This version includes up-rendering, custom video filters, quick save, and rewind features.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Control former S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine as you attempt to escape Raccoon City all the while trying to unravel the seedy underbelly of the Umbrella Corporation in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Just like RE2, this version includes those quality-of-life improvements.
