      Howdy,

Not been here for a long time but saw on the PS4 community that there was a site update so thought I’d pop back and see who is about 🙂

So, who is getting a PS5 at launch? I must admit I was not going to until next year until I had the realization that once I get my PS5, I will have no use for my PS4 at all! The PS5 plays 99% of PS4 games, and the PS4 itself has no backwards compatibility or need to be kept. So now I try desperately to sell my PS4 PRO while it still holds value – but I’m really struggling!

There isn’t any launch games that interest me but the idea of playing the more demanding PS4 games without the fan of the PS4 sounding like an airport is already a benefit that and the SSD of course. I was actually VERY close to going with XBOX this time around as they’re showing great respect to their backlog making many original Xbox & 360 titles BC – I have 200+ PS2 games I can’t play on my 1080p & if I upgrade to 4K i imagine the PS3 will look equally rubbish.

However, once I learned Final Fantasy XVI would be a PS5 exclusive that was iit – very strange considering that on the XBOX One we’ve seen just about every classic 3D FF game ported onto it (Minus FF7R). But there is no way I’m not playing the next FF game so PS5 wins for me.

Looking forward to Resident Evil 8 & Yakuza 7 & think if I get it at launch I’ll get the Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Edition – Just hoping the DLC is finished.

But that’s all my jumbled thoughts on jumping to next gen, hows everyone else approaching it?

Welcome back! And yeah, I was the one that posted onto the PS4 community. Sadly, since this account system and all that is relatively new, it unfortunately means that most of our older regulars don’t actually have accounts yet. Here’s hoping they all come back, though!

Me! I’ve got my preorder set, and can’t wait until November 12th! 😀 I’m also in a similar boat with my PS4 Pro. On one hand, I don’t want to get rid of it, and likely won’t. But on the other hand… i mean, it’s kinda useless now, isn’t it?

I’m super excited for the next generation! A little less so for Xbox, since they removed the secondary HDMI port on the new consoles. I’m one of those fools that actually watches live TV, so… kinda need my port if I want to get rid of my One.

Can’t wait for the PS5 though.

I’ve got my PS5 locked. I was one of the lucky people to pre-order after the announcement and am very glad I did because I wouldn’t know when I could afford it otherwise.

I am in a similar boat, though, not too many games strike my fancy yet, but I know I will at least carve out some time to pick up Bugsnax and Watch Dogs: Legion.

Well I sorted out my PS5 now! I got a message saying I could go in store and pre-pay my order – They’re only giving us up until Wednesday evening to do so which is VERY short notice!

They’re not actually delivering the console though, apparently I have to turn up on the day of launch to the store. It wont be open but the staff will be at t he door & I have a raffle ticket to hand over and then collect my console. If you don’t turn up on the day between 8am – 2PM you won’t be getting you console until Lockdown is lifted – Good grief!

Luckily I had holiday booked from work prior, if not it’s on a Wednesday so I would be stuffed! Not keen on the idea of having to que up either. Might bring a separate bag as I don;’t want to get mugged on the way home 😛 … serious 😛

I see there is an ULTIMATE  Edition of Mortal Kombat 11… somehow I don’t think  that will be the last of the DLC – It’s a fighting game… However, I’ve waited a long time to play it and it seems a decent point to jump in. Got it for a good price too. Beyond that I will be getting the Devil May Cry V port in December which I am hoping I will enjoy more after the PS4s loading times were ridiculous prior to a mission. After that the only game I see beyond much later titles is Yakuza 7: Like A Dragon – Which I am annoyed I have to wait until March to get it on PS5 but I still have Yak’ 5 & 6 to play anyways.
