Tropico 5 Opens Its Sunny Shores To PS4 Owners In April

It's like The Sims , only in a much more appealing setting.

Publisher Kalypso has announced that Tropico 5 will launch for PlayStation 4 on April 28. It boasts 1080p and 30 frames per second and also supports Remote Play between PS4 and Vita.

If you weren't already aware, this will be the first franchise entry released on a PlayStation console. It's already available on PC and Xbox 360 and there are plans to bring it to Xbox One, but it's nice to finally see this sunny city-building sim on a Sony platform. To celebrate the confirmation of the date, Kalypso has also released a new PS4 gameplay trailer, which you can check out right here.

Oh, and don't forget about a Limited Edition version that will boast "The Big Cheese" DLC and the "Bayo Del Olfato" Sandbox map.

Tropico 5 Dated For PC, Scheduled To Grace PS4 This Fall

See, this way, it feels more like vacation when you're playing a Sims -like city-building simulator.

If you like the idea of building your very own tropical paradise, you'll be happy to know that Tropico 5 will release worldwide for PC on May 23. That will be a digital launch; the physical version will follow on May 27, and Xbox 360 and Mac versions are scheduled for this summer.

Of course, as this is a PlayStation site, we had to have some other reason for bringing you this news. And that is this: Publisher Kalypso Media also confirmed that Tropico 5 will come to the PlayStation 4 this fall (there was no mention of the Xbox One). Featuring advanced trading mechanics, scientific research trees and a boatload of island exploration, this will be the first game in the series to boast cooperative and competitive multiplayer for up to four players.

As El Presidente of the fictional banana republic, you can do whatever you want. And that's always attractive.
