Twisted Metal Show Renewed For Second Season

Peacock’s television adaptation of Twisted Metal has proven itself successful enough for a second season, joining the ranks of the award-winning The Last of Us show, which has a second season on the way. Yes, Anthony Mackie will continue to don the clown getup.

Amid all the game reveals, right before unveiling The Game Awards’ Best Ongoing award, Mackie himself confirmed that the Sweet Tooth is returning to terrorize Peacock again with a second season. Details are space, with no release date or story beats in sight.

Considering the wide acclaim the show received, it’s gonna be hard to top its precursor.

PS5 Exclusive Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Wins Most Anticipated Game

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Among the slurry of understandable categories in The Game Awards lies the Most Anticipated Game, and this year that honor goes to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Other contenders were Hades II, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Tekken 8, and Star Wars Outlaws.

Amid the onslaught of announced winners of a handful of more miscellaneous categories, presenter Geoff Keighley announced that the PS5 exclusive has won the Most Anticipated Game award, which means people are hyped for it.  Considering this is the follow-up to Final Fantasy 7 Remake, we can’t blame people for getting excited to see more, especially after that gameplay showcase back in late September.

Cyberpunk 2077 Wins Best Ongoing

Amid the contenders of Fortnite, Final Fantasy 14, Apex Legends, and Genshin Impact, the outlier took the award home — Cyberpunk 2077.

As announced during The Game Awards earlier today, CDPR won Best Ongoing. Some point out that it shouldn’t have won as it’s actually done — no more major content updates are planned as the studio moves onto the game’s sequel and its next Witcher entry.

It is an inspirational story of just how far the game has come from being an unplayable mess on console, leading to Sony breaking its own policies to now.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Wins Game Of The Year

The Game Awards has come to a close with an epic orchestra piece as Baldur’s Gate 3 takes home the coveted Game of the Year award. We can’t say we’re surprised largely due to all the awards it’s won across the event — Best RPG, Players Voice, Best Multiplayer, and Best Community Support.

As the orchestra settled, Wonka actor Timothée Chalamet dropped the news — Larian Studio’s latest RPG release took home the biggest award it could, beating out Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, Alan Wake 2, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder as this year’s Game of the Year.

Bert Van Semmertier, Joa Chim, Jason Latino, and Swen Vincke took the stage to thank the game’s supporters and the team that made it all possible, while commemorating the win to those who passed away, as the game was the studio’s “COVID game.” But, standing there in a full suit of armor, holding the coveted trophy, must make all the struggles it had to get there worth it in the end.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Wins TGA 2023’s Players’ Voice

Baldur’s Gate 3 has dominated a lot of categories that it’s been a part of, so, yes, it’s won Players’ Voice. Other contenders included Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Genshin Impact.

In a short announcement at The Game Awards, Baldur’s Gate 3 was dubbed the Players’ Voice winner. We can’t say this comes as a surprise, with the game taking home other major awards (like Best RPG). It’s still anyone’s race when it comes to Game of the Year, though.
