New Patch Finally Brings Full Screen To The Evil Within

Some will argue that it adds to the atmosphere. Others say it's just plain annoying.

When The Evil Within launched last year, gamers were a little miffed to find they couldn't change the permanent letterbox format.

The game had to be played with a 2:35:1 aspect ratio, so those black bars would always be at the top and bottom of the screen. However, thanks to a new patch as revealed at the Bethesda blog , those who don't like the letterboxing can finally switch to full-screen. The patch also tweaks the Casual difficult setting, offering more ammo and some "adjustments to the health bar."

Do you care about the letterboxing in the game? It didn't really bother me too much.
