Looks Like Soul Sacrifice Delta Will Soon Be Westward-Bound

Soul Sacrifice was a unique, entertaining adventure for PlayStation Vita owners.

Recently, we've been hearing rumors that the revamped version, Soul Sacrifice Delta , will eventually see a release in Western territories.

According to Gaming Everything , the title in question has been rated by the OFLC (Australian classification), which follows hot on the heels of a European retail listing at online Spanish store XtraLife. The game hasn't been officially confirmed for any territories outside Japan just yet, but it certainly seems feasible now.

Based on this information , Soul Sacrifice Delta seems to be the definitive version of the game, which is always appealing.

Vita Owners: Your Chance To Nab Soul Sacrifice For Free

If you're a PlayStation Vita owner, you'll definitely want to give this one a try (if you haven't already).

As announced over at the PlayStation Blog , Soul Sacrifice joins the Instant Game Collection this week for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

It's also worth mentioning that Dragon's Dogma will disappear from the Instant Game Collection after this week, so if you haven't grabbed it yet, do it now. As for Soul Sacrifice , it's a game that constantly tasks you with making important decisions; which limb do you wish to sacrifice in order to obtain more power? And how far are you willing to push it? It's a risk, a gamble, a fantastical balancing act, and it's well worth playing.

For the record, the newly released Tearaway is also well worth your time and money. The Vita really needed an infusion of creativity and innovation from a studio like Media Molecule. Expect to see the review very soon.

Soul Sacrifice For Vita Dated, Pre-Order Bonuses Detailed

We've been complaining for weeks that there just aren't enough new games available for the PlayStation Vita, and the first six months of 2013 looks awfully barren.

But at least there's one title on the horizon that could be fantastic, and a great option for action/RPG fans who love intriguing twists. It's from developer Comcept (founded by ex Capcom boss and Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune); it's called Soul Sacrifice , and it has been officially dated .

It'll debut in Japan on March 7 and it'll be ready to go in North America on April 30. In addition, they revealed the pre-order bonuses- Those who place their deposit on the game will get an exclusive pack of in-game content that boasts two costumes and three magic items, which consist of a Spirits' Flamepike, a Spirits' Blightstone, and a Spirits' Fulgurwood. Those should prove helpful, yes?

You'll also receive the Japanese voiceover pack for free as well. If you don't reserve the title, you'll have to pay for the Japanese voiceovers at a later date. Inafune has done everything he can to deliver a top-tier product for Vita owners, which we all have to appreciate:

"I have put all my passion and soul into the game's concept and my talented team has made an incredible effort to create the best game it could ever be. I'm confident that we've created an extremely engaging game that you will enjoy playing."

Yes, we're definitely hoping Soul Sacrifice will be a AAA title for Sony's new portable. It really needs one.

Inafune: TGS Proved The Industry Is Inundated With Sequels

Ex-Capcom boss and Comcept co-founder Keiji Inafune is always ready to talk, especially when the subject is the general state of the game industry.

Clearly, Inafune wasn't all that impressed with what was on display at last week's Tokyo Game Show. He stated quite bluntly- "There's nothing brand new here in TGS 2012; there's just too many sequels."

And of course, that's something we've been hearing from many mouths for quite some time; sequels, prequels and spin-offs frequently rule the sales charts, because gamers routinely flock to recognizable names and big franchises. But as a consequence, it makes launching new IPs that much more difficult. Said Inafune:

"It's a huge challenge to bring out new IPs in the gaming landscape here. With Soul Sacrifice and our partnership with Sony, this may bring in new obstacles to overcome, but we like new and good challenges. Hopefully other publishers can take on that spirit more."

He's referring to the Vita-exclusive title that's kinda like Monster Hunter , based on what we've heard. He also added that the game would never have existed if he hadn't left Capcom, obviously meaning that Capcom wouldn't have backed the project. Sony, however, has opted to back it, and Inafune is appreciative of that. Anyway, I don't think anyone will necessarily disagree with the "too many sequels" complaint, but let's not forget that very often, sequels and new franchise entries are often popular for a very good reason: Many times, they kick much ass.

Assassin's Creed III or God of War: Ascension , anyone?

Mystery Vita Game, Soul Sacrifice, To Be Revealed Next Month

New hardware can use as many great games as possible.

And that's why we're always on the lookout for promising new PlayStation Vita titles. The latest should be fully unveiled next month, and Andriasang caught an advertisement for the mystery game in Famitsu.

It's called Soul Sacrifice and it should boast a story featuring magicians, evolved combat, and "real fantasy shown in high spec." There's an explanation of what was on display in the magazine, and this includes a strange hooded character whose hand sports a red Z-like mark…we assume it's significant, but we have no idea why just yet. The good news is we won't have much longer to wait for the official info; the source claims the title will be announced on May 10 at an event held in the Tokyo International Forum.

The Vita needs all the help it can get and for a system designed specifically for avid gamers, the best help will come in the form of awesome software. Will Soul Sacrifice fit the bill…?
