Want an update on the development of Shenmue III ? Of course you do.
And creator Yu Suzuki was nice enough to deliver exactly that during the Monaco Anime Game International Conference. This included several gorgeous new screenshots (here's one and see the others at DualShockers ).
These represent a work-in-progress project, of course, but they're still worth ogling. Also, two people who pledged $10,000 for the opportunity to have dinner and go to a planning meeting with Suzuki get their reward this weekend, as the creator said in a new Kickstarter update :
"What exactly will get planned at the meeting? Well, we will all have to wait and find out..! Wish our backers good luck as they head into the most important meeting of their lives (or maybe at least of the weekend)!"
Last year, the Kickstarter campaign raised over $6.3 million after the announcement shocked the world at E3 2015 . This was well in excess of the $2 million goal, though also well shy of the $10 million Suzuki hoped to raise in order to deliver a "full" open-world experience. Hence, the "slacker backer" campaign that let people continue to contribute to the project through the end of 2015.
Ys Net hopes to deliver the long-awaited Shenmue III in December 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
