Shadow Fall Intercept Expansion Includes Four-Player Co-Op

For many, the words "four-player online co-op" is like catnip.

Guerrilla Games will release just such a mode for Killzone: Shadow Fall in June, and they'll release the mode later this year as a "standalone version." We're just going to assume that we won't need the original game to play it; hence the definition of "standalone."

The new Intercept expansion in June will be a free download if you have the Season Pass, but we don't know if those without the Pass will be able to purchase it separately. This DLC boasts an infiltration and reconnaissance mission, where you and three friends will relay Helghast intel back to HQ via uplinks. Establishing an uplink is tied to the team's score, and this can be enhanced in a number of ways. Kills and recaptures will help as well.

The co-op mode will also come with four arena maps derived from locations in the campaign. If you're still enjoying Shadow Fall , here's more reason to stick with it!

Killzone: Shadow Fall DLC Includes New Weapons, Abilities

Ready to expand on an already solid experience?

The first multiplayer expansion for Killzone: Shadow Fall will launch next month, and it will include new weapons, abilities and game modes.

As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog , The Insurgent Pack will feature the insurgent character class, which can hack and steal skills. The assault, scout and support classes will also get new abilities: Assault characters a nifty guard drone, scout players will receive an e-pulse emitter, and the support character can send out a tactical echo emitter to stall oncoming foes.

The Pack will even boast a new Elite Mode for the single-player portion of the game. If you think you're up to it, you'll have to deal with only three lives on hard difficulty. I wouldn't mess with that but by all means, give it a go if you're so inclined. This DLC will also include the M82 assault rifle from KZ2 and KZ3, along with the L512 SMG Pistol and Sta14 sniper rifle.
