Next-gen versions of games released for the "old" consoles should be significantly upgraded, wouldn't you agree?
Thankfully, Ubisoft is definitely taking advantage of the new hardware's advanced capabilities when it comes to Rayman Legends . Last year's acclaimed platformer launches in North America for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 18 (February 20 in Europe). The NA date is a week earlier than what the publisher previously announced.
As reported by GameSpot , the glossier Legends will offer "numerous features and content not found in the otehr versions." This includes playable characters inspired by popular Ubisoft franchises ( Assassin's Creed , Far Cry and Splinter Cell ), sharper visuals, and greatly lessened loading times. Said lead designer Emile Morel:
"Jumping in and out of a level has never been faster and it's a great feeling to have such a seamless experience. Navigating in the game now feels smoother and your gaming experience is never stopped by loading transitions."
The PS4 version will utilize the Dual Shock 4's touchpad to enable an all-new Camera Mode that lets players snap in-game screenshots and share them with friends. The touchpad is also used to virtually "scratch" in-game tickets and lastly, the PS4 iteration supports Remote Play. If you play it on Xbox One, you'll have the opportunity to earn 10 time-limited achievements by completing a set of challenges in a set amount of time (one week).
Obviously, if you missed out on Rayman Legends last year, February's the time to play catch-up with either your PS4 or Xbox One.
