Quantic Dream Has Started Work On A PlayStation 4 Project

We all figured Quantic Dream would be on board for PlayStation 4 development, especially after they showed off some amazing tech during the PlayStation Meeting last month.

But now we're hearing a little more about the new project. In speaking to GameSpot , Quantic Dream founder David Cage has revealed that work on their new PS4 project "is already well under way."

As you might expect, the next-generation title will maintain the studio's emphasis on a compelling story. Cage also says it's "incredibly exciting" and it's "one of the strongest concepts" his team has ever had. That's pretty impressive considering that the concepts in Heavy Rain and the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls aren't exactly uninteresting. And because of QD's relationship with Sony, they've had PS4 development kits for a while. Said Cage:

"Because of our relationship with Sony we had access to development kits on PlayStation 4 very early on, we started developing [Beyond's] engine on PlayStation 4 with crazy features that were usually reserved to CG films. We were implementing them on PlayStation 4 thinking that it would already be a challenge, which it was, but at the same time we realised that some of these features could be implemented on PlayStation 3."

As for what you saw on the stage during the PlayStation Meeting, Cage said that's the engine being used for the PS4 project. The old man on display wasn't one of the characters, but that was indeed the technology they plan to use. Yeah, well, bring it on!
