Okay, so maybe I was the only one who played the hell out of Chessmaster back in the day.
But I can't be the only person who'd be interested in this: VooFoo Studios has revealed that Pure Chess will launch on the PlayStation 4 in April. It'll retail for $7.99 but if you're really into the game, you can grab the Complete Edition for $14.99, which comes with extra locations and set themes.
The game debuted on the PS3 and Vita last May and was then ported to the 3DS, Wii U, and mobile platforms. It hasn't made its way to any Xbox platforms yet because in truth, Xbox owners just aren't smart enough to understand chess. …oh, calm down, it's a joke . Anyway, Pure Chess offers tutorials on various strategies, so just about anyone can sit down and learn. There will be leaderboards as well, if you wish to test your skill against others.
Chess will always be the game of kings.
