Visit The PSXE YouTube Channel, Catch Up On Old Shows

It has been a while since we made a new PSXE Show but hey, summer is slow.

We might do more, but they may or may not be featured in the PlayStation Home community theater, which has become jam packed. There is no doubt, however, that we will put more stuff up on our YouTube Channel, which is a lot easier for us to do. Also, stay tuned for more video reviews as well.

We've uploaded the last couple of PSXE show episodes in case you missed 'em when they debuted. They're old but at least they're entertaining (I think), and you can feel free to comment on the…uh…commentary. I cover all sorts of topics, from mobile gaming to the travesty at Team Bondi. There's also a good chance we'll be returning to the PlayStation Vita for a video update of some kind; you may recall that we debuted the Vita overview video at around the time Sony's new portable hit the market. We need a progress report.

So if you're interested, head on over and check it out . Also, don't forget to take part in the ongoing conversations on Twitter . Who knows…maybe I'll let some things slip there that would never slip on the main site…

PSXE Vita Game Giveaway Winner Gets A Couple Freebies

Last week, we had our standard party in the PlayStation Home Community Theater to celebrate the arrival of the latest episode of the PSXE Show.

There were a ton of people around for most of the night (big update day in Home), and all of them were registered in our random drawing for a chance to win two PlayStation Vita games. The winner would be able to select from a handful of titles that I currently have available.

And the winner is:

Andrew B. aka Serakek

He has chosen Army Corps of Hell and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as his two games, and we'll be shipping those out soon. The Vita launches tomorrow so we figured people needed some extra software to go with their fancy new portable, especially considering the prices involved. Many of the people who registered said they just couldn't afford to pay for many games when purchasing the system (a few even said they would only be able to get the unit). Gotta get a memory card, too, after all.

Anyway, stay tuned for the next episode and the next giveaway. 🙂

New PSXE Show: Come Party, Get A Shot At 2 Vita Games!

The latest episode of the PSXE Show airs today (Wednesday) in the PlayStation Home Community Theater. I hear there's an interview with David Jaffe, too, so expect plenty of people to visit the Theater!

As usual, we're going to have our little get-together to celebrate the launch of the new episode. If you were with us last time, you know all about the revamped Home space; if you weren't or you're new to the proceedings, make sure to download all the new stuff ahead of time. Come visit us in the Community Theater at 8 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. PST and chat; we always hang out and talk about a multitude of things, so feel free to kick off a topic. Just be civil about it.

Now, if you show up and let me know you're in attendance, you'll be registered in a random drawing to receive 2 free PlayStation Vita games . There's only one hitch: I'm not sure which two you'll get, but I will give you a choice; if you win, I'll send over a list of what I have available, and you can pick. No, I'm sorry, I don't do requests. 😉 So look for me and my brother – Home usernames fathoms and ViperIsIn – we'll probably be in the middle of a group in the Theater. Come on in, chat, tell us you're there, and then, one final step- email me at bdutka[at]psxextreme.com to complete your registration.

That's it. The new episode is great and looking down the road, we're going to get a little fancier… Also, be sure to check our YouTube Channel later this week, when we bring you a Vita hands-on presentation.

P.S. As always, this is only open to people in the US.

PSXE Show: Giveaway Winner, Fans Pose For The Camera

The latest episode of the PSXE Show is up in the PlayStation Home Community Theater – check it out if you haven't already seen it – and we had a really solid turnout.

A whole bunch of people registered for the two-prize pack giveaway , which consists of a PS3 copy of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the super cool "Uncharted: Drake's Journal." But of course, as always, there can be only one winner. And that winner is…

PsychoSchizo

He also goes by JLB1 here at PSXE, so congratulate him when you see him. We saw a lot of new faces at the show this time around, but we also saw a lot of faithful return attendees, which you can see right here, sporting their new PSXE Home t-shirts! TheHighlander took these photos for us; from left to right in both pics, there's JohnLD, Fathasun, Highlander, and BurnedKnight. You can spot Xombito sitting in the back with the flaming Twisted Metal head.

If you haven't grabbed your free PSXE t-shirt for your Home avatar yet, grab it now: 8D7Q-HLNH-GBF3 . There's one male and one female one, and we got a million of 'em…that's usually just an expression but this time, we mean that literally. Okay, it's a little less than a million now that a bunch of people have taken one, but we're sure we won't run out. 🙂

Anyway, congrats to PsychoSchizo and thanks to everyone who came to see the show. An earlier episode will show up on our YouTube Channel soon.

New PSXE Show: Party Today, Win A Two-Prize Pack

Update: Just so everyone knows, the Community Theater is #1 in the new Home structure.  Also, because it's the last Home update of the year, there are a TON of shows, so you'll have to wait through a few before seeing ours.

Of course, we can always chat for a while. 🙂

Original Story:

The final PlayStation Home update of the year is set for Thursday, December 22. Yes, that's today.

And PSXE is part of that final update, as the latest episode of the PSXE Show goes live in the PlayStation Home Community Theater. Our get-together party in the theater is back: meet us there at 5 p.m. PST/8 p.m. EST to check out the show and chat.

Topics for the show include The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim , Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception , and RAGE , and it's certainly one of the slicker shows we've produced. Furthermore, I've got a special two-part prize package for one lucky attendee: it's a PlayStation 3 copy of Skyrim and the Uncharted Drake's Journal , which brings you inside the making of Naughty Dog's latest masterpiece. That's a combined value of about $85 including tax.

To be eligible to win, you must do the following- as there are two prizes involved, there are two steps. First, you have to come to the party. It doesn't really matter what time, provided you stop by at some point during those two hours. Tell me (fathoms) you saw the giveaway. Then email me at bdutka[at]psxextreme.com when you're done watching the show. That's it. I'll do a random drawing of everyone who does this.

Please be warned: I really can't ship outside the US. With customs slips and cost of delivery, it's just a colossal pain in the ass. So just be a US citizen, all right? We look forward to seeing you there!

PSXE Poll Update: T-Shirts Might Not Be A Bad Idea

Well, that was a little surprising. But definitely encouraging!

If you want, you can pick up a free t-shirt for your PlayStation Home avatar. Just our gift to you. But some readers have expressed interest in nabbing a real shirt, which is what prompted our latest poll.

It's great to see that many are perfectly willing to purchase a t-shirt, while others said they might, provided the price was reasonable. Therefore, we'll maybe look into churning out a bunch and making them available to all our fans; we hope those who have been with us all these years will grab one. If we do decide to do this, we might ask you about a preferred design, so maybe some time down the road, expect to see a poll for that. We're not designers, after all. 😉

This week, we want to know if you'd be willing to give Hideo Kojima his creative freedom . Would you rather he stick to the legendary Metal Gear Solid franchise, or would you welcome something new from the master? Furthermore, what type of game should it be? Something similar to MGS or an entirely different adventure?
