So, how many minutes of gameplay does the PlayStation 4 record in the background?
Reports have varied over the past few months, but now we've got the final word. As reported by CVG , Sony's new machine will continually record 15 minutes of gameplay data, which users can then publish online if they so choose.
SCEE Research & Development boss Neil Brown had gone on record saying the system recorded "several minutes" of gameplay footage. But in fact, it's fifteen minutes, as initially revealed. That recorded data can be accessed via the Dual Shock 4's nifty new Share button, and the player can even edit and crop the footage before sharing it with friends. You can upload to various social media networks, such as Ustream. For the record, the Xbox One will automatically record five minutes of gameplay that can also be shared.
Personally, I've never felt the need to do something like this, but I suppose it's a much appreciated feature.
