PlayStation Plus Hits Vita Next Week

It's time to make the PlayStation Vita that much more intriguing to gamers.

Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) has announced that PlayStation Plus, the premium PlayStation Network subscription, will expand its Instant Game Collection to include support for Sony's new portable in North America. This support begins on November 19.  Yep, next week.

Plus members will get 6 new titles to play on the Vita along with the 12 that are already available for the PS3, and all this can be had for less than $5/month (considering the one-year $49.99 annual fee). Plus will hit the Vita when the handheld's new system software update, Version 2.00, arrives. If you're not yet familiar, Plus' Instant Game Collection features unlimited access to a continually revolving stable of new downloadable titles. And to kick things off for the Vita, gamers will be able to check out Uncharted: Golden Abyss , Jet Set Radio , WipEout 2048 , Gravity Rush , and Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!

Said SCEA vice president of marketing home consoles and portable platforms, John Koller:

"The PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection is such an incredible value, providing PS3™ and now PS Vita owners with a library of 18 games for less than $5 a month. Ultimately, we know that gamers choose platforms based on content, and with the addition of PS Plus and a stellar lineup of exclusive games launching for the platform by this holiday season, now is the perfect time to purchase a PS Vita."

And of course, beyond the Instant Game Collection, Plus offers exclusive discounts, early access to beta tests and downloadable content, automatic updating, and online cloud storage for up to 2GB worth of game saves (1GB for PS3 and 1GB for Vita). If you're interested, you can try Plus for 3 months for $17.99 or spring for the 12-month plan for the cost of $49.99. If you're already a member, you'll be able to enjoy all Plus features on the Vita at no extra charge.

Happy gaming!

PlayStation Plus On Vita: First Details Revealed Next Week

We've all assumed PlayStation Plus would come to Sony's new portable. The only question has been- "Okay, when ?"

It seems we'll have the answer very soon. According to TheSixthAxis citing SCEE PlayStation Store and Plus Content Manager Chris Howe, details on Plus for Vita should be here next week.

Many believe Plus on the Vita will be similar to the premium service on the PS3, so we can expect discounts, free games, early access to betas, cloud storage, etc. Howe added that we might see another feature for Pus in November; it would be part of the "PlayStation Presents" promotion that aims to bring previously unknown titles into the spotlight. But the big news will obviously involve the Vita because the more robust that unit is, the better chance it has of selling.

Plus has proven to be quite the value for most gamers, so to have it on the go would be a definite…uh…plus.

Plus Service Hitting Vita In November

It's almost time to bring the great benefits of Plus to the handheld on-the-go universe.

Along with announcing the new PlayStation 3 models , Sony has another piece of good news: PlayStation Pluls will be available for the PlayStation Vita in November 2012.

It'll work as you would expect; Vita owners can subscribe to Plus and get free games, discounts, and other goodies and preferential treatment, such as early entry into beta tests. They say "a variety of convenient Plus subscription options will be available in each country and region," and that includes a 30-day plan for Japan and Asia, a 90-day plan for North America and Europe (coming in at $17.99), and a yearly, 365-day plan for all four territories ($49.99 for North America). If you've already got a Plus membership, you're good to go; no extra charge for the Vita.

Most will tell you that Plus is a darn good deal and if you've got both the PS3 and Vita…it could be double the good deal.
