PlayStation Now Beta Leak Featuring Killzone 3 Gameplay

The PlayStation Now beta is in full swing, and participants are able to test out a few great titles .

One of them is Killzone 3 , and a leaked video of his session with PS Now is online; check it out below. The actual gameplay runs between 3:30 and 6:50.

You can also see how Now will work: You boot the service from the PSN tab on the XMB, and that launches into an app designed to resemble the PlayStation Store. The available games include the titles listed in the link above, along with Dead or Alive 5 . In this case, the user selects Killzone 3 , checks the Internet connection, and then starts streaming. It takes about a minute to reach the game's normal loading menus, which really isn't bad at all.

Now is scheduled to roll out in the US later this summer.

PlayStation Now’s Pricing And Packaging Similar To Netflix

Sony's new streaming PlayStation Now service was recently announced during the CES event in Las Vegas.

However, we don't have exact pricing details just yet, so it's a common question to hear from gamers: "How much will this cost me?" Sony doesn't have a number but in a new PlayStation Access video (see it below), we find out that prospective subscribers should suspect Netflix-like membership packages.

Obviously, it seems a PS Now subscription will be an additional fee atop PlayStation Plus, which is required to play games online. For the record, Netflix currently charges $8/month, which lets users stream video content to two screens at once. If you fork over $12/month, you can stream to four screens simultaneously, but Sony hasn't confirmed if PS Now will let you stream to multiple screens.

Sony further adds that streamed games you play via Now will be "fully featured." So, you can save your game, earn Trophies and play multiplayer online; essentially, you should be able to do everything you'd do with the disc-based version of the game. Look for the beta on PS3 later this month; the service is slated to roll out some time this summer.

Streaming Game Service PlayStation Now Slated For Summer

The PlayStation 4 selling 4.2 million units worldwide wasn't the only important news.

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. also announced that PlayStation Now (PS Now), the company's streaming game service that leverages cloud-based technology, will be available on the PS3 and PS4 this summer. It will come to the Vita a little later.

Sony Bravia TVs will also support PS Now and eventually, Sony will bring the service to other platforms and Sony devices, which will ultimately allow users to stream PlayStation games on numerous Internet-connected devices. Such a service is quite diverse; for instance, it will let PS4 users in the living room keep playing a game on their PS3 in the bedroom. The service will also support many other features, such as online multiplayer, Trophies and messages. Said President and Group CEO of SCE Inc., Andrew House:

"We are thrilled to deliver entertainment experiences only possible from PlayStation through our new streaming game service. PS Now will allow users to engage in the world of PlayStation, whether they're existing fans or have never owned a PlayStation platform."

Before this service officially launches, SCE will kick off a beta test on PS3 systems in "certain regions of the United States," starting at the end of this month. For more, visit the PlayStation website .
