Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition On The Horizon

Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West might be getting a complete edition headed for the PlayStation 5. No announcements have been made, but Singapore’s rating board once had a different listing for the Guerrilla Games title.

As spotted by VGC, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition showed up. It’s been bumped to MA18 due to the PS5 exclusive Burning Shores DLC seeing Aloy — optionally — able to kiss her same-sex companion Seyka. Since then, it’s been taken down by the time PSX Extreme went to verify.

This complete edition is going to current-gen only as while the base game made it to the PS4, its DLC was controversially PS5-only, making some players blast Guerrilla for even putting the game on the previous-gen if it wasn’t going to be fully supported.

As previously mentioned, we’ve got no announcements, but we imagine it’s probably going to be either during the holiday season or perhaps closer to Forbidden West’s February anniversary.

Yup, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake Shakes Up PS5 Next Month

It’s official, THQ Nordic is bringing its last-gen SpongeBob game, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, to PS5. What’s more, existing PS4 owners will be able to freely upgrade to the new version.

Earlier this month, a native PS5 version was uncovered. The new version will include a Photo Mode, letting players capture a moment of Cosmic Shake and fiddle with 19 different filters.

It’s worth noting the game has seen mixed reviews, but perhaps Purple Lamp’s upgrade might sway more in its favor as it will address some of the problematic bugs, as well as tackle them on the previous-gen version.

Cosmic Shake hits PS5 on October 16.

Roblox Releases To PS5, PS4 Next Month

Roblox

Roblox, the insanely popular kids online game, will release on the PS5 and PS4 in October. This will mark the game’s first leap onto a PlayStation device.

The news was spotted by Gematsu during one of Roblox Corporation’s long RDC blog posts detailing its future.

Playing on the PS consoles allows players to play any of the myriad of user-created games. Meanwhile, you’ll need a PC to create your own, but once you do, they’ll be playable on the consoles.

PlayStation Portal Launches In November

PlayStation Portal

PlayStation’s latest PS5 peripheral, PlayStation Portal, is launching in mid-November. The Remote Play device will allow you to stream your PS5 gameplay in another room of your house via Wi-Fi apparently seamlessly, so you can go from playing on your console to the handheld and jump back in, though, we expect there to be some caveats.

An updated PlayStation Blog post revealed that the device will be released on November 15, with pre-orders open now over on Direct

The PS Portal retails at a modest yet pricey $199.99 and includes nice-to-haves like DualSense features — haptic feedback and adaptive triggers — packaged with an 8-inch LCD screen capable of 1080p at 60fps. It’s also said to have a battery life comparable to the DualSense controller, but we’ll have to wait and see how true that is.

What do you think? Are you excited for the PlayStation Portal enough to pre-order it? Let us know below!

Sony Might Be Working On A New PS2 Emulator

Sony is reportedly working on a new PS2 emulator, but this is just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. If this is the case, it’s a step in the right direction, as the current emulator used for PS2 games on current hardware offers lackluster compatibility and performance.

Reputable PlayStation content creator Mystic, who often stays away from leaks, states in a recent YouTube video that he has it on “good authority” that the console maker’s working on a PS2 emulator, though it isn’t ready to be showcased just yet. Some hope this will be the catalyst of a PS3 emulator, but we wouldn’t hold our breath on that.

All we can really say is if any console maker would have a reason to do this, it would be Sony, considering it has its own games preservation department.

PS5 Sales Trending Ahead PS4 Life-To-Date Sales

PS5 sales

Over the last year, the PlayStation 5 has seen a huge explosion in adoption after a lengthy battle to bring the console steadily to homes across the world. Component shortages during the early years of its life made it difficult for early adopters as scalpers swooped in to take advantage of desperate people looking to get in on the new generation of gaming.

According to Circana (previously NPD) (via GamesIndustry.biz), the PS5 is now trending ahead of the PS4 when compared to its own life span at the time. Meanwhile, it’s leaps and bounds ahead of the PS3, clocking in at a whopping 87% ahead of the hardware. That shouldn’t surprise anyone, though, as the PS3 was a disastrously scuffed console launch.

What do you think? Have you made the leap to the current-gen and if so, how are you enjoying it?
