Looks like PS2 games may soon be playable on PS4.
More evidence has come to light supporting the idea that some classic titles may be available on PlayStation 4 in due time; the latest piece of news involves the system's upcoming firmware update 3.00 .
Previously, we'd heard that both Twisted Metal: Black and Ape Escape 2 had been rated for PS4 , so if this is really happening, the question is obvious: Which PS2 titles do you most want to see?
What with all the HD upgrades, remasters and remakes this generation, it actually makes the decision a little tougher. I mean, we already got several Final Fantasy updates – like Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and what seems to be the inevitable Final Fantasy XII HD Remaster – and we can't wait to see the Ratchet & Clank remake coming next year. Yes, there were a lot of huge PS2 games that have received the "modernizing" treatment but of the ones that haven't, which should be playable on PS4?
I'm thinking they should give us all the Onimusha titles. I really miss that series; I played every one through to completion and didn't regret a second. I still say Onimusha 3: Demon Siege has one of the best intro CGIs of any game ever. Then there are other lost gems like the first Red Faction , Medal of Honor: Frontline and Jak and Daxter . Don't forget the PS2 had a ton of quirky cult classics like Katamari Damacy and Gitaroo-Man as well. There are just so many to choose from; remember, we're talking about a console that went strong for over a decade. Yep, lots of titles.
Which ones would you be most likely to revisit on PS4?
