Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Confirmed For PS3, PS4

The tease was pretty transparent but now it's official.

PopCap Games has officially announced that Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will come to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on August 19. PlayStation fans will have access to the Garden Variety and Zomboss Down DLC right from the get-go, too.

If you're unfamiliar, this is a colorful, appropriately bizarre third-person shooter built using the Frostbite 3 engine. You can play with up to four players in the wave-based Garden Ops mode, or hit the battlefield and play with as many as 24 players. The PS4 version will boast 1080p HD resolution and a silky smooth 60 frames per second, and it will also support Remote Play, so you can extend your entertaining experience to the PlayStation Vita. Oh yeah, and split-screen will be available as well.

Looks Like Plants. vs. Zombies Is Coming Soon To PlayStation

Thus far, Plants vs. Zombies isn't available on a PlayStation console.

Looks like that's about to change, though. Electronic Arts threw up a Twitter tease that PlayStation aficionados are bound to understand.

It only says, "It's time for an announcement" but the picture is an intriguing image with the title "Fly Shooter" and it's an obvious reference to Sly Cooper . The screenshot is even similar to one of the first screens we saw for last year's Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time . Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare released earlier in 2014 for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, and the PC version is due out later next month.

Developer PopCap Games hasn't officially confirmed that the popular series is coming to the world of PlayStation but at this point, it seems inevitable.
