Ni No Kuni Trailer Presents A Gorgeous, Diverse World

Level-5 knows what they're doing, and it's not all about White Knight Chronicles II , which releases next week.

Don't forget about another promising title, the PlayStation 3 version of Ni no Kuni , which we're hoping will receive a North American release date at some point. It has already landed a Japanese date (November 17), and optimists are saying we'll hear about a Western launch some time soon.

In the meantime, check out the diverse gameplay and beautiful locations you can expect to explore.

We see a medieval castle town, a volcano, an ocean, a graveyard, and oh yes, a winged creature (perhaps a dragon) flying over the landscape. It's almost painfully pretty and we really like the variety on display in this trailer. Sure, some will call it a little cutesy but you know, you have to appreciate artistic style and a colorful, engaging world.

Ni No Kuni Magical Edition PS3 Bundle Lights Up Japan

Now we know that the PlayStation 3 version of Ni no Kuni arrives on November 17 in Japan.

But we know something else, too. According to Andriasang , Level-5's promising RPG will receive the honor of a PS3 bundle: It's the Ni No Kuni Magical Edition and it boasts what should be a slick – and definitely original – console. It'll be a mix of white and gold and…well, it's bound to be pretty. But don't bother asking if it'll come to North America because that's extremely unlikely. No, if you want this hardware bundle, you're gonna have to move or import.

As for the game, we're hoping to see a US/UK release date some time soon. Ni no Kuni is one of those titles that appeals to old-school JRPG and anime fans and you know, there aren't many of those left. Well, it seems that way, at any rate.

Ni No Kuni PS3 Receives Japanese Release Date

Yeah, we know. Most of you haven't heard of the game. But believe it or not, we've seen several e-mails asking us to cover this one.

That's probably because JRPGs really are few and far between these days. Ni no Kuni launched last December in Japan for the Nintendo DS but this year, we heard Level-5 would deliver a PlayStation 3 version at some point. We've heard the upgraded version will boast an entirely new story, so we're interested to see how it turns out. The good news? We finally have a date…the bad news is that it's only for Japan. According to Andriasang , Famitsu has revealed that the promising, colorful title will be available on the PS3 on November 17. One could make a guess at a North American date based on this information, but we wouldn't recommend it.

But when and if it does arrive, we promise we'll deliver a review for Ni no Kuni . Evidently, some wouldn't be able to forgive us if we didn't.

Pretty Debut Trailer For Level-5’s Ni no Kuni Surfaces

We were going to wait until we could locate more English information – and whether or not Level-5 intends to release it in North America – but everyone keeps talking about it, so you kinda forced our hand.

The White Knight Chronicles developer has announced a new PlayStation 3 title called Ni no Kuni , which is not simply a remake of the DS version of the game. This is actually an entirely separate role-playing adventure specifically designed for the PS3 and it'll carry the subtitle of "Queen of the Holy White Ash." Various sources have posted up the debut trailer and any baseline details they can find but for now, all we know is that it's set to release some time next year; the DS version of Ni no Kuni will be out in Japan on December 9, 2010.

It sure is pretty, isn't it? Even if it's not necessarily your cup of tea, you should still be able to appreciate the supreme level of artistry and animation evident in this presentation, and although definitely a little "kiddie," the combat could be surprisingly deep. This is supposed to be an RPG, after all. We'll let you know when Level-5 feels like releasing more information for this promising PS3 title; for now, many are watching the above video and coming away with smiles on their faces.
