Ever heard of a special edition that didn't come with the game?
Well, now you have. Today, Bethesda has announced the Panzerhund Edition for the upcoming Wolfenstein: The New Order . There will only be 5,000 units (a true "limited" edition if there ever was one), and it'll feature a bunch of goodies, all packaged within a special footlocker-type box measuring 20" x 10.5" x 8.5."
Included in that nifty box is an 8-inch hand-painted Panzerhund statue and base, a Classified Folder containing war documents like maps, case files, letters, and even an X-ray for hero B.J. Blazkowicz. But that's not all: There's an exclusive steelbook for the game, three embroidered patches, a replica dog tag, and 14 full-color vintage postcards from the adventure's alternate reality setting (in the 1960s).
The price is set at $99.99 but as I said above, this does not include the game. So basically, it's more like $160 for everything, unless for some bizarre reason you want the Panzerhund Edition and no game. By the way, pre-ordering Wolfenstein: The New Order will net you access to the DOOM beta, if you're interested.
The new Wolfenstein effort is set to drop on May 20 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
