Natural Doctrine Finally Lands In The US On September 16

It has been available in Japan for a while now, but don't fret, it finally has a North American release date.

Publisher NIS America has announced that Natural Doctrine will launch in the US on September 16, and a European release will follow three days later. The game will be available for the PlayStation 4 ($60), PlayStation 3 ($50) and Vita ($40).

Each platform will receive a special Limited Edition version as well, and those will be $20 more than the standard price (so, $80 for the PS4, $70 for the PS3, and $60 for the Vita version). Bonuses include an art book, poster, and an "explorer's back," which appears to be a handy-dandy backpack. The game itself boasts turn-based combat (yay!) and it will also support Cross-Play and Cross-Save across all three PlayStation platforms.

For JRPG lovers, this is the game they wish they had at the PS4's launch. Right?

First Western Natural Doctrine Trailer: Humans vs. BIG Monsters

Interested in seeing the first Western trailer for Natural Doctrine ?

It may not be as informative as you'd like but it does show off plenty of very large monsters facing off against a few intrepid – and much smaller – humans.

Essentially a tactical RPG, this title met with some decent critical acclaim when it launched in Japan. Obviously, you can see the Japanese influence and while that may turn some of you off, the gameplay style could attract all gamers with a penchant for micromanagement and party control. Kadokawa can be sorta hit or miss but we've got high hopes that this one hits the sweet spot for PlayStation 4 owners in the West.

It will support cross-save and cross-play functionality, too, if that makes it more appealing to you.

Natural Doctrine Pushed Back In Japan

Japanese gamers waiting for Natural Doctrine will have to wait a little longer.

According to Siliconera citing a Dengeki Online report, Kadokawa Games' Natural Doctrine has been delayed until March. It was supposed to be ready for the PlayStation 4 launch in Japan, which has a February 22, 2014 date.

The new date for Natural Doctrine is March 19; that's when it will launch for the PS4, PS3 and Vita in the Land of the Rising Sun. The game supports cross-save functionality across all platforms, and a special edition bundle will feature a download code for the Vita edition, along with the physical PS4 copy. We haven't heard if this game will make its way to North American store shelves, but it looks awfully interesting, so we're hoping it will. If you're unfamiliar, check out the trailer below. It has a lot of promise, doesn't it?

Kadokawa always produces some pretty zany stuff.
