Limited Editions For ZoE HD Collection And Metal Gear Rising

Pay attention, Kojima fans.

Not one, but two limited editions are coming your way , and you just might want to grab both. The good news is that both are very different, and one features a demo for the other.

The first is the Zone of the Enders HD Collection Limited Edition, which is slated to launch on October 30 and contains a horde of goodies: A special gold and metallic packaging, a soundtrack, and a 100-page art book with illustrations from Metal Gear and Zone of the Enders artist Yoji Shinkawa. Also packed in is a demo for next year's Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance …yup, there will be a Limited Edition for that, too.

The latter includes a soundtrack, two-sided steelbook, and "high-frequency katana plasma lamp." This will come out alongside the game on February 19, and hardcore fans of the MGS franchise might just have to have it. Of course, this is a spin-off so maybe not… Depends on how you look at it, I guess. By the way, prices weren't revealed for these LEs.

Revengeance Set 4 Years After MGS4, Sunny Returns

While everyone is all psyched for Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes , let's not forget another Metal Gear title is coming a great deal sooner.

And although the story may not be as big of a focal point, the plot in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance should prove intriguing. And thanks to a few flyers that were being handed out at this past week's Tokyo Game Show (and as seen at an unofficial MGS site ), we've got a few new details.

Firstly, the date of the setting is 2018 and if you remember, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was set in 2014. Also, the popular and memorable character of Sunny should be featured as well; with the four-year gap, she may be between ten and twelve years old. Also, as a bit of clarification if you didn't already know, Snake is gone and he won't be included in the game. Of course, the same can't be said for Ground Zeroes as he clearly has returned as the protagonist.

It's all a little confusing to be sure but then again, it's MGS. It wouldn't be MGS if it wasn't at least a little confusing.

Kojima And Co. Preparing All New Rising Trailer And Demo

Gamescom is behind us but you don't have long to wait before the Tokyo Game Show gets rolling; it's just over a month away. Yep, that soon.

One of the games that turned heads at GC 2012 was Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and we also learned it was slated for a February launch. A demo will ship with the upcoming Zone of the Enders HD Collection , too.

But if you want more Revengeance , Kojima and Co. will have you covered at TGS. According to Andriasang , producer Yuji Korekado confirmed via Twitter that the team is working on a "completely new demo and completely new trailer" for the Tokyo Game Show. He also said there were four-hour waits to go eyes-on with the game at last week's GC event, and he heard plenty of "strong praise," too. That's always encouraging, right?

Anyway, we have total confidence that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be great. It isn't MGS and it isn't supposed to be, so we're good.

Metal Gear Rising Dated, Demo Coming With ZoE Collection

Oh good Lord, yet another huge title set for the first quarter of next year. It has become a second holiday season!

Konami has revealed the official release date for the hotly anticipated Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance : February 19 for North America and February 21 for Europe.

Prior to this nailing down of an exact date, we had heard that Raiden would start slicing in "early 2013," so this shouldn't come as any surprise. This project represents an intriguing collaboration between Kojima Productions and Vanquish and Bayonetta developer Platinum Games. The game was initially shelved until Kojima and Co. decided to tap the talented team at Platinum to finish the title, which became an all-out hack 'n slash extravaganza. Sorry, no stealth here.

If you want to test out what is almost guaranteed to be some fast-paced action, pick up the Zone of the Enders HD Collection , which is slated to launch later this year. If you're unfamiliar with that series, we strongly recommend checking out the HD installments, 'cuz those games absolutely rocked. Check out some old reviews.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Cutting Back On Cut-Scenes

Two things we know: 1. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a spin-off and not a true MGS franchise entry. 2. As a result, there won't be as big of an emphasis on storyline.

Kojima Productions handed this project off to Platinum Games, and the latter's Bayonetta and Vanquish were excellent, but of course, the focus was squarely on the action. You'll probably see that same approach with Revengeance .

In the latest KP Project Episode, it was revealed that the length of the cut-scenes will be "a little shorter" when compared to other games with "Metal Gear" in the title. Most of the plot will be unraveled through codec conversations, and those can be heard in real-time while you play. However, they did say there's a "huge amount" of content in those conversations…provided we're willing to listen. We might be too busy doing other things…like, killing.

Me, I play MGS for the story; I'll play this for a very different reason. And I'm okay with that. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is set for an early 2013 launch in North America.

Rumor: Metal Gear Rising Slices Up Store Shelves In February

We knew we wouldn't see Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance until next year, and we still don't have an official release date.

But according to an advertisement in Intent Media's annual Sourcebook (as cited by GamerZines ), the hotly anticipated title is slated for February 2013.

It was part of Konami's software lineup and it seems Revengeance has gone from the vague "early 2013" to "February 2013," which is a little more specific. You could start seeing the same estimated window appear in retailer databases, so if you go to pre-order or something, you might find out. If you want to try the game early, you'll want to pick up the Zone of the Enders HD Collection (launching later this year), which will feature a Metal Gear Rising demo.

Rising is essentially a collaboration between Kojima Productions and Bayonetta developer Platinum Games. Kojima's team started it and Platinum is finishing it, as they'll bring they're patented brand of stylish over-the-top action to Raiden's new adventure.
