It's always interesting to see how many copies an exclusive game can sell.
One of the best games of the generation should sell a bunch of copies, regardless of the fact that it's only available on one platform. So we leave it up to you to determine if the current sales total for God of War III is enough: it has been brought to our attention that SCEA's masterpiece has just passed the 3 million mark worldwide. The numbers aren't official unless they're from the NPD but VGChartz is often close and just for the sake of argument and discussion, let's assume GoWIII is right around 3 million. Now, the question is, what do you think…? Should it be selling more, even if it's only available on the PS3? Or can this be considered a rip-roaring success? Other PS3 exclusives, like Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots , have managed to perform impressively on the charts, and GoWIII's numbers are in line with those titles. Well, for the most part.
We just hope the developers continue to be satisfied with the sales totals, so they'll continue to provide gamers with unbelievable experiences. There's no doubt that exclusives tend to be the cream of the crop for any platform; a designer's dedication to one particular platform has proven beneficial over the years.
