If you're of a certain age, you probably grew up reading the hugely popular "Goosebumps" books.
Now, they're coming to life in a movie starring Jack Black , and also as a new video game from developer WayForward. As revealed over at the The PlayStation Blog , Goosebumps: The Game will launch on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on October 13.
The developers describe the game as similar to the MacVenture classic Shadowgate , in that it adopts the traditional first-person point-and-click gameplay style. WayForward says we can expect around 60 different rooms, each of which will include one or more of the following: an "atmosphere component, a puzzle or two, clues for a different puzzle entirely, and some built-in storytelling elements." The modern difference is that this experience isn't completely linear, as it lets the player wander about. If you get stuck on one puzzle, move on and try another.
The team used hand-drawn artistry for the backgrounds and it definitely looks like a fitting homage to the series. To learn more, click through the link above, and here's the debut trailer:
