Acclaimed Gone Home Coming To PS4, Xbox One After All

It's one of the best-reviewed indie games of the past few years and it's finally coming to consoles.

Didn't look like it was going to, though. Gone Home was originally scheduled for consoles but the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were canceled earlier this year.

Now, however, developer The Fullbright Company has announced that both versions will launch on January 12, 2016. Fullbright had been working with Majesco, which was suffering through some financial problems, so Fullbright decided to handle the port internally. This, combined with the help of indie game publisher Midnight City, means Gone Home is console-bound. The game has moved from the Unity 4 engine to Unity 5, so console owners should get the same experience as PC players.

We'll also get 90 minutes of behind-the-scenes developer commentary. Looks like a great little game to kick off the new year!

Critically Acclaimed Gone Home Coming To Consoles In 2014

One of the best indie games available is soon coming to consoles.

The widely acclaimed title from The Fullbright Company, Gone Home , released last summer for PC, Mac and Linux platforms. Now, Majesco Entertainment's indie publishing branch Midnight City will deliver the revered game to consoles .

The only problem is that we don't know which consoles, exactly. Midnight City would only say on Twitter :

"Nothing specific yet. We'll be sure to let everyone know when we can."

We do know it'll be available this fall, and we also know it'll be a fantastic addition to the library of any new platform. Hopefully, it comes to at least one of the PlayStation consoles because personally, I think PlayStation fans would most appreciate this type of thoughtful interactive entertainment.
