FlatOut 4: Total Insanity Confirmed, Intent On Fan Interaction

The anticipated new FlatOut installment now has a full official title.

Furthermore, the development of the project will give fans "an unsurpassed degree of visibility" in regards to the design process.

Smash ‘Em Up In 2016: A New FlatOut Is Coming Our Way

We could definitely use another destruction derby game. Whatever happened to these, anyway? Loved the Vigilante games.

Developer Kylotonn Entertainment and publisher Strategy First have announced a new FlatOut entry, currently in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via GameSpot ). The new effort is scheduled to arrive some time next year.

Strategy First says they've received "numerous" offers from developers all over the world, but they opted to go with Kylotonn because they think the team has the necessary experience to revive the franchise. The original, created by Bugbear Entertainment, never came to a PlayStation platform; it only released for Xbox and PC in 2004. Bugbear did deliver FlatOut: Head On for PSP, though, and the last title was FlatOut 3: Chaos and Destruction .

This new installment will be the "most ambitious title in the franchise's history" and they want gamers to "get involved in the creative process." So yeah, maybe we can expect a beta at some point.

More details on the new FlatOut as they arrive.
