Alleged Leaked Doc Details Unannounced PlayStation Games

Unannounced PlayStation Games

A document has found its way across the internet that points to several unannounced PlayStation games. Unfortunately, PSX Extreme was unable to answer to its validity, but Gematsu, alleges they’ve fact-checked many of these games through their own sources.

The biggest leaks alleged that Guerrilla Games are in the works making a PS5 remaster to Horizon Zero Dawn and a multiplayer game based on the IP. Other games on the list, as per Insider Gaming allege Firesprite is working on a survival horror, which lines up to previous coverage earlier this year, nicknamed Heartbreak.

Sumo Digital is working on an open-world multiplayer under the working title Carbon. Lucid Games is working on a multiplayer vehicle combat game nicknamed Redstar, which is likely the working name for the next Twisted Metal entry, which is in the works at the studio. Kojima Productions is working on an open-world cryptically nicknamed Ocean.

Project Bates makes another appearance in this leak, but we already knew about this Ballistic Moon-PlayStation project already back in August.

London Studio is also working on a game as a service title under the nickname Camden. None of these have been properly announced and it’s all possible to be bogus, but much of it already had hints throughout the last year or so, so really, it’s not too hard to believe these unannounced PlayStation games are really the working titles.

Horizon Call Of The Mountain Gameplay Revealed

Horizon Call of the Mountain

The PSVR2-exclusive Horizon Call of the Mountain just got a gameplay reveal. While the game itself was in the public eye for a while, it wasn’t until the recent State of Play that Guerrilla Games — and also PS Studios’ Firesprite — opened up a bit more about it.

The story sees you in the eyes of Ryas, a former Shadow Carja Warrior with a knack for archery and climbing. While the game does have you control an entirely new character, you won’t be alone on your adventure to investigate a new threat to the Sundom. Along the way, you’ll meet both fresh faces along with classics including Aloy, though, her presence in the story is unclear.

Ryas’ archery and climbing skills won’t be the only thing you’ll need to survive the various mech-dinosaurs in your way. During your adventure, you’ll learn how to craft new gear. You can also enjoy the scenery during river rides in Horizon Call of the Mountain, though, it does sound like the machines aren’t docile during such trips.

Firesprite Looks To Make Triple-A Horror Game

Firesprite

A job listing is indicating that Firesprite, the relatively recently acquired PlayStation Studios developer is working on a AAA horror game. According to a ResetEra user, the studio is on the lookout for a brand-new narrative director with “veteran” game writing/direction experience to work on a narrative-driven horror title made in Unreal Engine 5.

Currently, we can’t be sure if Firesprite is building off of an existing Sony property or if it’s something brand-spanking-new from their own minds. What we do know is The Playroom developer certainly has its hands full with projects.

Not only are they co-developing the PSVR2 Horizon franchise spin-off, Horizon Call of the Mountain, but they are also supposedly taking over the unannounced Twisted Metal reboot from Lucid Games.

December 2021’s PlayStation Plus Games Revealed

PlayStation Plus

Late November saw a leak surface from Dealabs, which has been pretty credible when it comes to leaking the next line of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Much like last time, it’s proven fruitful.

Sony has announced the series of games being exactly what was rumored, but also throwing in a curve ball. The three games listed were Lego DC Super-Villains, Mortal Shell, and its sole PS5 title, Godfall.

Where the rumor differs, however, is Sony is also tacking on three different PSVR titles. These titles are the TV show-tied The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, Firesprite‘s The Persistence, and Schell Games’ hack-and-slash rougelite, Until You Fall.

This next lineup of PlayStation Plus games will be available to download on December 7 through to January 3.

Firesprite Looking For A Writer For An “Ambitious Unannounced AAA Title”

Firesprite

Not long after their acquisition, it looks like Firesprite, the latest in PlayStation Studios’ family of developers, is hiring a writer for a new project. Their website’s job listing labels the project as an “ambitious unannounced AAA title.” Nothing really points to anything concrete as to what it could be aside from its platform — PS5.

Some fans might think it’s a brand-new game, likely an RPG or some sort of narrative-driven game considering the proper candidate must be able to write branching paths, utilizing VR. That being said, it could not be the case, considering Firesprite’s managing director, Graeme Ankers, told Games Industry that the UK-based developer can’t promise to focus solely on VR games now that they are part of PlayStation Studios.

This listing could be for something already in-development, to be fair. Before Sony swooped in and acquired the studio, Firesprite was working on a dark narrative adventure that had no name, so this project might have taken a turn, leading to a new writer needed on staff. But, that’s not confirmed, so take that with a grain of salt.

PlayStation Studios Acquisitions Remain “Selective”

PlayStation Studios

Earlier this week, Sony acquired Firesprite, a Liverpool-based game developer housing many former Sony Liverpool employees. As this came mere months after they snatched up Housemarque, PlayStation Studios boss, Hermen Hulst, went out to clear the air and remain vigilant that they are selective in what teams they speak with.

Speaking to Games Industry, Hulst discussed how the entrepreneurial spirit is what drew them to Firesprite, which now employs 250 people with a majority of its leadership helming from the now-defunct Sony-owned studio. He then stated that he doesn’t believe they’re scaling to “become big” and that he wants to be selective, focusing on shared values and good relationships.

“I don’t think we’re scaling for the sake of becoming big… I want to be very selective. Our growth is measured in that sense. It is very quality-led and based on shared values and good relationships.”
