There are plenty of Final Fantasy titles available on the PlayStation Store but as the hardcore fans know, some are unfortunately missing.
One of those missing games will hit the PSN next week as part of the Network's Winter of RPG's campaign: It's Final Fantasy III , which will be ready to go on Tuesday, September 25.
As detailed over at the PlayStation Blog , FFIII is for the PSP and portable fans will experience this journey with the four Warriors of Light; Luneth, Arc, Refia, and Ingus. This was the first franchise entry to boast the awesome Job System, as there are a total of 23 different Jobs to unlock and master. Me, I've always thought the Geomancer was pretty freakin' cool but quite a few jobs are extremely useful, obviously. Mages always rock, for instance.
New features for this PSP iteration include graphics optimized for that 16:9 screen, a sweet image gallery, an option to switch to the original BGM, and an auto-battle mechanic that doubles the speed of combat. As for the latter, all hardcore fans know auto-battle of any kind is a no-no. A cardinal sin. Don't do it. I'll find you if you do.
