If you look at F.E.A.R. 3 and say, "eh, just another shooter," you're making a mistake.

While this series has always utilized the popular first-person shooter mechanic, the titles are story-driven and downright creepy. It's the combination of the atmosphere, plot and characters that keeps us playing, and apparently, that goes double for the upcoming F.E.A.R. 3 . Scheduled to arrive on May 24, this one ought to be well worth your attention. Featuring the talents of horror guru John Carpenter and some impressive visuals and action, F.E.A.R. 3 has a ton of potential.

If you're not familiar with the F.E.A.R. series, now might be the time to get interested.

The horror FPS has provided gamers with solid, freaky storylines and intense combat situations, and it appears the third installment will take everything to a new level. This new story trailer will get your blood pumping; it's a shooter, yes, but it lives and dies with the plot. Multiplayer is definitely not the focus and these days, character and story-driven shooters are a rarity.
