Unfortunately, those reports were accurate.
As announced over at the PlayStation Blog , the previously confirmed PlayStation 4 launch title Driveclub has been delayed until early 2014. This delay applies to both the regular and PlayStation Plus editions of the game.
The involving racer is in development at Evolution Studios, but Sony boss Shuhei Yoshida said the team "requires more time in order to deliver on their vision." This decision does affect the Instant Game Collection for Plus members at the PS4's launch: Driveclub will still be part of the IGC when it's released; in the meantime, the title has been replaced with Contrast . If you're not familiar with the highly creative project from Compulsion Games, check out the trailer below. It's definitely intriguing.
Yoshida adds that while this news is disappointing, new PS4 owners "will have no shortage of titles to play this year." Launch titles include Killzone: Shadow Fall , Knack , Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag , Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts . Yeah, well, it's not quite as impressive without Watch Dogs or Driveclub . Just sayin'.
