Driveclub Gets New Launch Date, Trailer, Game Director

We've got the new launch date and the game has a new director.

As Sony previously promised, they've revealed all the pertinent information for the anticipated new PlayStation 4 exclusive, Driveclub .

According to the updated report over at the PlayStation Blog , the new socially-connected racer will be available on October 7. Technically, that's another delay, but at least we don't have to wait until next year. The PlayStation Plus version will also be available on that date, but we don't have all the requisite details for that iteration.

Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida also introduced us to the director, who has been in place as of February 2014:

"In addition to the new date, we are also very pleased to announce that as of February 2014, Paul Rustchynsky — better known as Rushy — has been at the helm of DRIVECLUB as Game Director. We appreciate the announcement has come a little late, however we wanted to inform his appointment along with the new date announcement."

Rustchynsky was the game director for the well-received MotorStorm RC , and he has been an "integral contributor to all major titles coming out of Evolution Studios since 2004." Well, so this guy knows what he's doing in the world of racing, obviously. The only problem now is that October 7 is already very full; Dragon Age: Inquisition and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor are also set to launch on that day.

Yep, fall is gonna be busy .
