Don’t Starve: Giant Edition Set For Vita

It'll soon be time to test your prodigious survival skills when on the go.

As developer Klei Entertainment announced over at the PlayStation Blog , the well-received Don't Starve is headed to the Vita.

When it arrives on Sony's portable, it will do so in the form of the Don't Starve: Giant Edition , which will feature all the content and updates, along with the Reign of Giants expansion. Klei community manager Corey Rollins heard that a lot of people wanted to play this one on the Vita, and the team has responded. We don't yet have a release date; for now, the developer simply wanted to confirm the project.

For those of you who have played it already, what do you think? And would you recommend it to Vita owners?

Don’t Starve Might Get Ported To Vita

Want to see Klei Entertainment's quirky Don't Starve on the PlayStation Vita?

It might happen. In response to that very question on Klei's Twitter page , the developer said that although they're currently focusing on the PS4 iteration, a portable version isn't out of the question:

"We're focusing on getting PS4 out first, but we think it [PlayStation Vita version of Don't Starve] would be neat too! We're looking at if it's possible to do. Maybe? ha ha"

PS4 owners in North America who also happen to be PlayStation Plus subscribers can download Don't Starve on January 7. European gamers get it a day later. This game is an absurdly difficult survival simulator that utilizes a unique sense of artistry. Klei was also responsible for the acclaimed Mark of the Ninja and Shank , both of which are known for their steep difficulty curves. As for Don't Starve , it could be just the challenge you hardcore pros are looking for.

However, if it goes to the Vita, you may chuck that sucker in a fit of frustrated rage. …and that would be quite unfortunate. Costs way more than a controller, after all.
