In our estimation, Dishonored should've sold more. But that doesn't mean it isn't a success.

In fact, the game has actually exceeded internal expectations, and Bethesda PR manager Pete Hines told Destructoid that such a solid reception will likely lead to sequels. Said Hines:

"I can tell you that Dishonored is far exceeding our sales expectations, which is especially cool considering it’s new IP facing a host of well-established franchises this quarter. We did terrific numbers again this past weekend, both in stores and on Steam, where Dishonored was listed as the #1 selling title over the holiday weekend. And Dishonored has really sold well overseas. So, we’re very pleased and appreciate all the fans that have supported Dishonored and [developer Arkane Studios].

We clearly have a new franchise."

Dishonored came in as the fourth-best selling game of October and although we don't have total sales estimates at this time, we're happy to hear this. Such a ridiculously awesome game deserves to be noticed, although given the story, we're not entirely sure how they'd do a sequel…
