PDP To Produce Officially Licensed Media Remote For PS4

Could be the perfect addition to your home entertainment setup.

Although it hasn't been formally announced, game accessories manufacturer PDP has designed an officially licensed PlayStation 4 media remote, which should go on sale later this year.

This Amazon listing says the price will be $30 and it has a current release date of October 31, 2015 (likely a placeholder). This remote provides wireless control via Bluetooth for up to four devices, including your PS4, TV, set-top box and audio receiver. It even sports PS4-specific buttons that make it similar to the DualShock 4 controller.

Battery life with two AAA batteries comes in at about six months with normal use (which seems low to me), but it's a slick-looking remote. Besides, Sony hasn't announced any plans to make a media remote for PS4, as they did with PS3, and PDP is an officially licensed product. Maybe you should spring for it this fall.

Devil’s Third Still Alive, To Be Re-Revealed “Later This Year”

It fell off the radar for a while and now, it appears Devil's Third is getting a face-lift.

The developer showed off a newly redesigned logo on Facebook , and told us the formerly anticipated game would be reintroduced "later this year."

In development at Valhalla Games, Devil's Third was supposed to be an over-the-top action game for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Now, however, there's a good chance the team is reworking it for next-gen consoles. Valhalla Games was created by former Tecmo boss Tomonobu Itagaki of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive fame, and their first game was announced back in 2010.

However, they had signed on with THQ, which went belly-up in 2012. Since that time, it has been unclear what would happen to Devil's Third , as Itagaki reclaimed the rights to the project after the THQ ordeal. Later last year, he said the game was "80 percent complete" and on track for a 2014 release but now, that doesn't appear to be the case.

Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Devil’s Third Is About 80% Complete, Will Release In 2014

Unfortunately, we haven't heard much about Valhalla Games' Devil's Third in 2013.

But boss man Tomonobu Itagaki has given us a progress report, thanks to a recent 4Gamer interview (as translated by Dual Shockers ):

"Next year is the year we’ll launch our title Devil’s Third. At the moment the game is 80% complete and it looks finished. However I’m still polishing it further. That’s why I became independent. I would like to apologize for worrying our fans. Next year we’ll release it for sure, so stay tuned."

While Itagaki certainly has the requisite industry reputation ( Dead or Alive , Ninja Gaiden , etc.), we still need to see some extended, finalized gameplay for Devil's Third before we start to get properly excited. From what we've seen and heard thus far, the game has tremendous potential. But how will it fare if it's only available on "old" platforms? Should it also release for the PS4 and Xbox One? That might help.

We'll let you know more when we hear more.
