Annoyed at the overwhelming power of the shotgun in Destiny ?

Well, you're not the only one, and now developer Bungie has responded.

According to the developer's Weekly Update , an upcoming patch will effectively nerf shotguns. Update 2.0.1 will remove the Shot Package perk from all shotguns, which makes them less deadly and less likely to take down an opponent in a single shot.

Any shotgun that used to have the Shot Package will instead have Close and/or Personal, Crowd Control, or Knee Pads. Bungie wants to reintroduce the perk again at some point, but they need to remove it for the time being for balancing purposes. Apparently, they've gotten plenty of feedback and ran a lot of tests that says shotguns simply needed to be scaled back, so that's what's happening.

Earlier this week, the developer revealed the first microtransactions for Destiny , which met with mixed reactions, as is often the case with microtransactions.
