Deep Down Info: No Female Characters, Fixed Difficulty

Well, this little piece of information is enough to incite a minor riot these days.

According to a DualShockers translation of a Niconico livestream presentation of Deep Down , the game will not boast playable female characters.

They don't say why, but that's the way it's going to be. Additionally, you won't be able to tamper with the game's difficulty, although Capcom can make changes on their side if things prove unbalanced. The source claims another limitation, too: Only four weapon styles will be available upon the launch of the game. More will be added later but as this title utilizes the free-to-play model, many are thinking we'll have to pay for them.

The weapon styles revealed thus far are sword and shield, greatsword, and spear. As for no women characters, that's going to rub a lot of people the wrong way…

Capcom’s Deep Down Apparently An MMO, Only On PS4?

When the PlayStation 4 was first announced back in February, one of the most impressive upcoming games on display was Capcom's Deep Down .

At the time, we didn't know much about it. We just knew the debut trailer was unbelievably detailed and all sorts of promising. Now, we know a bit more…and those hoping for an epic single-player role-playing experience will be disappointed.

It actually sounds more like a next-gen Monster Hunter . The publisher held a presentation in Japan ; the "Capcom Network Games Conference," where they introduced a new lineup of online-only games that are in development. On the list was Deep Down , which is apparently an MMO as an Internet connection will be required. It will be playable at this year's Tokyo Game Show and the PS4 is the only confirmed platform. They've also opened up a teaser website and released a new trailer, which doesn't show much.

Well, I suddenly don't care about the game. But I'm sure a great many love the idea; going a-questing with friends ought to be mucho entertaining for the multiplayer fans out there.
