Dangerous Golf Isn’t Really Golf…It’s About Destroying Stuff

Yeah, I really want the new Hots Shots Golf .

But there's another "golf" game that is now on my radar, and should be on yours as well…provided you've got zero interest in actually playing golf.

The guys best known for creating those fantastic Burnout games have announced Dangerous Golf , which, as you might expect, "isn't your average golf game." Three Fields Entertainment, the UK studio created by Criterion founders Fiona Sperry and Alex Ward, are working on a crazy, offbeat game that "challenges the player to break the rules and wreak havoc." At this point, there are four courses and a total of 100 holes. Said the studio in a statement:

"It's as serious a golf game as Burnout was a serious simulation to driving games. We wanted to mix the attitude of Burnout with the destruction of Black (a 2004 first-person shooter from Criterion) whilst setting the golf ball on fire–a nod to NBA Jam. This type of gameplay is part of our DNA, and something we think our fans will truly enjoy."

The idea here isn't to get the ball in the hole; it's to generate as much "dollar damage" as possible. You'll be able to turn the ball into a mini bomb and send out the "Smashbreaker," and locations include a hotel kitchen, palace ballroom, rural gas station, and even a medieval castle. You can do plenty of damage in such places!

No footage just yet but you can learn more about it and catch some screenshots at the team's official website . Dangerous Golf is scheduled to launch in May for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
