Want Some Call Of Duty Remasters?

Remakes and remasters have become big business in the new generation.

And maybe if "big" is a subjective term, especially for a publisher like Activision, the possibility still exists:

Call of Duty remasters.

In a new Game Informer interview with Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg, the question of remasters for the blockbuster franchise arose:

"If done well, I think [remasters] can be great. You talk about nostalgia, and people have such connection to the games they love from the last cycle. They want to see what it would look like if someone did it right for this cycle."

Hirshberg added that it would come down to the "opportunity cost," in that Activision doesn't want to try such projects if they jeopardized the development of fresh series entries. He also said he "would love to play Modern Warfare or the original Black Ops " on new consoles, but they need to find "great people to do that work."

No remaster is going to make as much as a new CoD (most likely), so of course, you can understand Activision's position. But maybe going even further back would be intriguing; maybe a remake of the original Call of Duty …? What do you think?
