Hogwarts Legacy Retakes Top Spot In Weekly UK Charts

Hogwarts Legacy

The most recent weekly physical sales data from the United Kingdom has seen Hogwarts Legacy reclaim the top spot thanks to a combination of early Black Friday deals and the recent Nintendo Switch version released on November 14. With Christmas just around the corner and many Potter fans to buy for, it’s no surprise the game has seen a surge back to the top.

The chart from GamesIndustry.biz, also saw a few new entries into the top 10, including Bluey: The Videogame at number seven and Super Mario RPG at six. The early sales have also seen other games rise the ranks, as Mortal Kombat 1 rose from 33rd to 10th within a week.

Last week, Portkey Games also announced on its support page that the previous Twitch drop rewards will be made available to everyone upon launching the game after November 13. Giving access to further cosmetics that players may have previously missed, including the likes of the full Charms Professor set.

What do you think? Were you one of the gamers who recently picked up a copy of Hogwarts Legacy? If so, how are you finding the game? Let us know in the comments below.

Retailer Study: Xbox One Ruled Black Friday Sales

So, who won the Black Friday console war?

Well, according to a study from retail analytics firm InfoScout , it wasn't the PlayStation 4. In fact, it was the Xbox One that dominated.

Apparently, Microsoft's new console comprised 53 percent of all consoles sold in stores on Black Friday while the PS4 was a distant second at 31 percent. The Xbox 360 was third with 9 percent, the Nintendo Wii U only managed 6 percent, and the PS3 came in at 1 percent. InfoScout's data came from 180,000 participants who were asked to send in pictures of their receipts from Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Radio Shack, GameStop, and other stores.

Interestingly enough, 66 percent of participants said they purchased the console for their kids. Maybe this means out-of-touch parents just see more Microsoft ads, or everyone in this country still associates mainstream gaming with the Xbox brand…?

Come Black Friday, Gamers Ought To Check Best Buy

So let's say you're crazy enough to go shopping on Black Friday. Or maybe you're a little more sane and you're planning to shop from home.

Either way, you might want to take advantage of all the video game sales at Best Buy. You should mosey on over to AnalogHype and examine the plethora of deals and steals that will be available on the day of days for shoppers.

If you act fast, you'll be able to grab big-name titles like Assassin's Creed III , Borderlands 2 , and Diablo III for $34.99 (that's almost half off the standard $60 price tag), and there are even some great options at the cheap $7.99 mark; Dead Island , Assassin's Creed: Revelations , and The Sims 3 among them. Oh, and here are the Door Busters, which are only available up until 10 a.m. or as long as supplies last (gotta be Johnny on the Spot with these):

Our recommendations are definitely Darksiders II , Need for Speed: Most Wanted , and Battlefield 3 if you haven't played it yet. Get ready to SAVE!

Keep An Eye On The Deals And Steals For Black Friday

Believe it or not, Black Friday is only about five weeks away, which means the proactive shopper should start looking around for deals.

There are usually plenty of great deals in the video game world come Black Friday, and many are hoping for the "less = more" approach; i.e., pay less and get more than you normally would. That's the idea.

In the interest of saving cash this holiday season, head over to GamerDeals.net , where they will continue to compile a list of game-related products that are on sale for Black Friday weekend. Multiple major retailers are included in the list, including GameStop, Best Buy, Amazon.com, Wal-Mart, Newegg, and more. Also, don't forget that some deals may be exclusive to either online or in-store customers, so pay attention! Nothing worse than getting all excited for an awesome deal only to find it's basically inaccessible for you.

Just remember: It's always better to be generous with others than with yourself. That's sorta the point of the holiday season. 😉

Thanks, BikerSaint!
