If you missed these narrative-driven gems on PlayStation 3, you'll soon get another chance to play them on PlayStation 4.
And of course, you'll have the opportunity to play the enhanced versions. As announced over at the PlayStation Blog , two Quantic Dream productions have been detailed and dated.
The first is Beyond: Two Souls , which will launch next week on November 24 as a digital-only product on the PlayStation Store. For only $30, you get "enhanced 1080p" visuals that boast motion blur, bloom, and depth of field effects, along with improved lighting and shadows. The port also uses the DualShock 4's speaker to "improve immersion when playing as the Entity." Here are a few other features to look forward to:
— Decisions are highlighted at the end of each scene and compared with those made by other players.
— Once you have completed Beyond: Two Souls, you will be able to replay the game in chronological order–a much requested feature in the PlayStation 3 version.
— Increased difficulty in certain fight scene, combined with improved controls for action sequences.
— Includes the "Enhanced Experiments" DLC.
Then comes the PS4 version of Heavy Rain , which will release on March 1, 2016, also as a digital-only title. This one will be playable at Sony's PlayStation Experience in San Francisco in December, and don't forget it qualifies as one of the PS3's very best games.
The good news is that if you purchase Beyond , you'll get Heavy Rain at a discount when it comes out (we don't have a price point for the latter just yet). Looking toward the future, Quantic Dream's new PlayStation 4 exclusive, Detroit , was just unveiled at the end of October.
