Dead By Daylight Reveals Alan Wake DLC

Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight is about to welcome Alan Wake among its extended cast of Survivors. It even features the voice actor reprising his role.

A trailer on YouTube was released revealing the new survivor, alongside giving fans a canon explanation about how he ended up in the universe. It’s worth noting it isn’t clear if this was official or just a nod to its style. Whatever the case may be, we shouldn’t be all that surprised that Alan’s stepping in.

Dead by Daylight enjoys a long cast of horror icons ranging from legacy horror monsters like Alien to icons like Chucky, Freddy Kreuger, Pyramid Head, and a laundry list others, including collabs with shows and other IPs like Saw and Stranger Things.

Chucky Cackles His Way Into Dead By Daylight

Another horror icon is making his way into Behaviour Interactive’s vastly popular Dead by Daylight — Chucky. This comes at the heels of Stranger Things content returning to the store following its removal due to license expiration.

As reported by IGN, this pint-sized serial killer is best used to stealth around the map and lunge at his victims to close the distance with his Slice & Dice ability. Meanwhile, his human form can aid in spirit form, and his Scamper ability lets him dive under pallets and through windows.

You can also customize the killer and turn him into the Bride of Chucky, complete with reprisals of both Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly. Cross this off many players’ wishlists on November 28.

Stranger Things Returns To Dead By Daylight 2 Years After Removal

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has announced the return of its Stranger Things tie-in content after its removal two years ago. The content was removed in August 2021 following its license with Netflix expiring.

In a recent press release by Behaviour, it announced that all the content scrapped back in 2021 is now back, including the Survivors and The Demogorgon. This time, the content will be available to players for the “foreseeable future.”

It’s also worth pointing out, the developer doesn’t seem to have plans to bring back Stranger Things-related trophies, at least not at the moment.

Dead By Daylight Dev Sees “No Reason” For A Sequel

Dead by Daylight

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive isn’t planning on making a sequel to its hit co-op survival horror. Since its debut, it’s amassed over 50 million players, a stark commercial success, continues to work on crossovers with other major IPs, and a movie deal with Blumhouse.

During an interview with MP1st, Head of Partnerships Mathieu Côté spilled the beans that the studio sees “no reason” to make Dead by Daylight 2 at this moment. Currently, the team just wants to continue working on the core game and it still has “many stories to tell.”

Considering it’s been seven years since Behaviour introduced us to the asymmetric survival horror, which itself spawned a wave of similar titles to varying success, we can’t blame the dev for wanting to keep this train going, especially as it continues to bring in more and more success.

What do you think? Do you want the team to make a sequel or not? Let us know below!

Dead By Daylight Reveals The Ring Source Material Next

Dead by Daylight

Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight has been collaborating with many massive horror properties to grace its game and, in a surprising turn of events, its next horror IP it’s injecting into its roster, is Ringu. For those unfamiliar, Ringu is the Japanese source material behind the psychological horror film franchise, The Ring.

Not much is known about the collab, though, we do know it’s going to be based on both the 1991 novel and 1998 film. The characters appearing in the collab are still shrouded in mystery, but we can probably expect Sadako Yamamura will be the new Killer for Chapter 23. Reiko Imayasu, a producer for publisher, Kadokawa, called the collaboration with Dead by Daylight “a new challenge” for the horror franchise in a statement to Polygon.

“It’s been 30 years since the first publication of the novel Ringu and 22 years since the film Ringu. Collaboration with Dead by Daylight is without doubt a new challenge for the Ringu franchise. As an IP from Japan, we are entering the Fog for the first time… tremble with fear whilst you wait!”

Chapter 23 is set to launch sometime in March 2022.

Stranger Things Content To Vanish From Dead By Daylight

Stranger Things

Well, this is why licensed content kinda sucks. While it’s cool to see your favorite characters brought to life in a video game that isn’t specifically tied to them, there is a troublesome thing associated to this type of content — licensing. This has long-been one of the many banes of developers’ existence. Now, Stranger Things content is leaving Dead by Daylight.

Announced over on their blog, all sale of the content will be halted later this year. If you already own Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, or The Demogorgon, you’re in luck — you get to keep them. Those who haven’t had the chance to pick them up but want to have until November 17 to do so. To sweeten the deal, Behaviour Interactive has slashed the prices and discounted the costumes, as well.

The maps, however, will be shuttered for good.
