Star Wars: Battlefront Shoots For Less Offensive “T” Rating

If you're a parent, you're probably interested in video game ratings.

And chances are, you're not a big fan of giving your 8-year-old M-rated (Mature) games to play, as they're rated for 17 and up.

The good news is that if you have a child who is a huge "Star Wars" fan, you may not have to worry too much about the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront . Even though the new multiplayer shooter from DICE and Electronic Arts does indeed involve violence, there isn't much in the way of blood, gore, or other potentially offensive material. That's why, even though the ESRB hasn't issued an official rating yet, EA said they're hoping to get the more family-friendly Teen rating.

As it says on the game's Twitter account :

"Star Wars Battlefront is still rated 'RP' (Rating Pending) but we're targeting a rating of 'T' for Teen."

The Battlefront beta is currently running and a recent comparison found that the PS4 version has the edge . They've also just confirmed that the beta period will be extended for one more day . Furthermore, it has recently come to light that playable heroes might include Han Solo, Princess Leia and The Emperor .

Star Wars: Battlefront is set to launch on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
