Even though it isn't coming out this year, Battlefield: Hardline remains a popular topic of conversation.
And during EA's Gamescom briefing today, they released new gameplay footage that is bound to keep people talking.
The first batch is 12 minutes of single-player action, which Visceral Games general manager Steve Papoutsis showed off on stage. It's pretty damn cool and gives us reason to hope for an engaging, top-notch campaign. He says the game's narrative highlights Hardline 's "new style of storytelling" and we're hoping that's a good thing.
Papoutsis then revealed two new game modes for the multiplayer component: Hotwire and Rescue. The former has you chasing down enemies in a vehicle; you hang out windows and gun down the escaping perpetrators. Rescue is an eSports-themed mode, where five criminals take a hostage and the police attempt to rescue said hostage (there is only one hostage per round).
Battlefield: Hardline is now expected to hit store shelves some time early next year.
